Well Armed out with ankle chip

Emirates Airline Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1) winner Well Armed came out of his last-place finish in Sunday’s San Diego Handicap (G2) with an ankle chip.

Trainer Eoin Harty told Daily Racing Form the six-year-old Tiznow gelding would undergo surgery at Alamo Pintado Equine Clinic in Solvang, California, within the next few days, which would knock him out of the Pacific Classic Stakes (G1) and probably the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
I bet on a horse at ten-to-one. It didn't come in until half-past five.
My horse was so late getting home, he tiptoed into the stable.

That would explain when Gryder said he never picked up the bit.

That's a shame. I wish Well Armed the very best for a successful surgery, a complete recovery and a return to soundness.

Happy thoughts and prayers.
