Garbage Maiden Claimers went 109 3/5 in the last and they looked like they were falling down coming the last 1/16th. Would not get too carried away here.

Quality Road vs Rachel in the Travers would be a very interesting match-up.

Almost the very personification of James Quinn's "quintessential bounce candidate."

Quality Road ran as good, and perhaps better than any three-year-old male I've seen this year. He's been on the shelf for months, just got back on the training tab, which I believe was in June, and although I couldn't tell from looking on my computer, apparently he stumbled at the break. Then he goes at least 3-wide, runs 6 furlongs in 1:07 and change, then breaks the record at the finish.

Even without a record, that was a very impressive return and he bounded away from the runner-up, who also gave a good effort, by more than two lengths I think it was.

As far as the Travers, it's too soon for him to go that far, IMO, but immediately after watching his performance, my first thought was that this could be a male good enough to beat Rachel; that is, eventually and if schedules at some point allow the two horses to be in the same race.
