Chinook Pass turns 30 years old

Postby Ogygian » Mon Aug 03, 2009 10:23 am

Saw this on Youtube and thought I would pass along to the DMFF.

I remember watching this guy in person at Santa Anita, and I have never, and I mean never, seen a faster horse run. This guy figuratively FLEW.

Happy 30th to the greatest sprinter I have ever seen......from the great northwest. :-)

He would be going so fast it looked like he was gliding around the far turn. 8-)

Does anyone have video they could post of Chinook Pass racing? I couldn't locate any on YouTube and I'm too darn lazy to google it...

If they ran a 6 furlong race and any horse that has ever stood on planet earth was eligible.

Chinook Pass would win!!

I too remember this speed ball and to have Laffit mention him after all the thousands of horses he rode really says a lot about him 8-) Thanks for posting Ogy

So glad to hear that I am not the only one who was a big Chinook Pass fan........boy was he something or what?

And I think's it's amazing that he turned 30 a few months back. As far as thoroughbreds go, isn't that pretty old? What is the life expectancy of a racehorse, thoroughbred, anyway?
