Sad News for Papoose La Moose

The favorite going into the 8th race was put down today as R. Baze fell off and Papoose La Moose some how lost balance and flipped on its back. Why is it that you see no news on the ill fate of the horses? Another horse came up lame I believe at Monmouth...couldn't put any weight on it's front left leg as it was crossing the finish line without a jockey. Yes, it's sad if the jockeys are injured and I feel for them and their families...but they choose to do it. The horses didn't choose to race.
