You're extremely close. Older mares who normally get 85-90 Beyer ran about 12-15 lengths slower in the Lady's Secret. So if we give the winner of that race, Devil House, a 90, then we have to give Rachel about a 117-120. (approx a little less than 2 points per length). Not sure what Manistique (115?) received a few years ago, but I remember Inside Information got a 118 for her BCup win. Rachel's may top that as the highest Beyer for a female that I've ever seen. I think Calvin said she's the best HORSE he's ever ridden at one time. I know she's definitely the fastest. Vince P

116 Beyer for Rachel. Mooks you think we are getting over excited in this case before we look at who she is beating. Worst crop of 3 year olds in years. POS MTB proved his worth yesterday and Summer Bird is not exactly a world beater? I think I will wet my pants more when I see her face older. Maybe partly it is my love for Zenyatta and hatred for Jess Jackson.

It's natural to root for your horse (Zenyatta) and discount what the rival (RA) has done. We do it every day in team sports. That's what a rivalry does...get you to pick a side and stick with it. But I look at it this way, overall, is this a good 3 year old crop, probably not (definitely not the strongest or most durable), but she has beaten everyone she has faced, everytime and except for one race, she's n the doors off of them. Yesterday was easily the most impressive IMO as the challengers were right there turning for home and she blew them away. It's now Zenyatta's turn to make her point next Sunday.

You said they are both beating 2nd-tier horses. They are beating the best of their crops and then some. What else would you have them do? Name some better USA non-turf horses who are in the same league as RA & Z. And not horses who conceivably "might" beat them, but ones who most definitely could & would because they have proved repeatedly (more than a couple of times) that they are the most dominant horses racing in the USA today. Go ahead, name them.

I think Einstein could give Zenyatta a run for her money. Rachel is in a class all by herself. She has repeatedly taken on the best.

I agree she is something very special but you can say with a straight face that Mine That Bird and Summer Bird are better than the likes of Einstein and Zenyatta? (you used the term best, not me). She has beaten the best of her restricted age group. What is much much much more impressive is her run against the timer.

Remember what a depleted crop of 3 year old males this is, too. While I thought Rachel ran a brilliant race Sunday, put Quality Road, I Want Revenge, The Pamplemousse and a few others in and the result might, MIGHT have been different.

I've never thought Summer Bird was anything special (but that's just my personal opinion). Yes, he won the Belmont but sometimes fluky horses do win the Belmont. Not as a rule, but sometimes. MTB is a better horse than Summer Bird, he always shows up. Not necessarily winning but he always right there duking it out. Einstein is a superior horse but I wouldn't say he could whip either RA or Zenyatta. Is he better than either one of them? He'd have to prove it. Just like either one of them would have to prove they are better than he. I asked for horses to be named who are better than RA & Z. So far the only names I've seen are those who are inferior or equal (Einstein). Not better.
