About Loveing time

Postby Srotagtbs » Sat Aug 01, 2009 10:25 am

Arlington has applied for Racing Dates next year with only 4 Racing Days a week. I'm a big believer in just 4 days a week and I'm glad they see the need to cut back. They SHOULD have done it this year, but at least they are doing it. I hope they stick with the 4 days a week well after next year, assuming they get the requested dates approved. I'm now off my soapbox.

I agree and.......... I also think, that for the fan - four hours of racing a day is plenty. I, myself, seldom stay after 4 pm as I have chores to do, dinner to make, animals to feed, etc. and I know I am not alone as their is a mini-mass exodus of people about the same time I leave. So aside from cutting the number of days - I'd like to see them cut the number of races by one or two per day. If the gamblers need more racing they have the simulcast.

I think we are real close to seeing 4 day race weeks across the nation except for a few meets.

New York (although AQU should go to four in my opinion)
Del Mar
Gulfstream

are the one meets that come to mind that can do 5 days well.
