PVal

TVG showed PVal at Del Mar on Sunday. Will he be riding in CA soon? Was he allowed to be on the racetrack grounds?

Just asking...I don't care either way.

Fairgrounds:
Patrick A. Valenzuela ...... 254 - 25 - 35 - 29 ....... $1,033,606 - almost 10% winners, but making a living.

Louisiana Downs:
Patrick A. Valenzuela ...... 167 - 29 - 31 - 22 ....... $524,285 - 17% winners

Me thinks he should stay in that circuit and make more friends with the trainers. The sweet bird of youth has flown away from Patrick.

P.S. - that's the 10,000th post named 'PVal'! COngratulations!

Also saw PVal briefly at Del Mar on Sunday. As well, wondered if he was allowed on race track grounds or is his ban simply riding related.

He was there for the introduction of a bizarre new PEB mural in the clubhouse, in which he apparently appears--a lot of the persons depicted were there (Rudy Campas! George Taniguchi!) so maybe he got a dispensation to take part in the ceremony?

Maybe Michael Vick cited the CHRB vs. P Val when it comes to second chances in sports.

Even if PVal could get licensed in California - which he can't - he'd have great difficulty getting good mounts. You can get away with tacking 122 as a big fish in a small pond, to an extent, but even Laffit had to get below 120 to regain a significant portion of his business.
