Alex Solis at the end of the Eddie Read

This is NOT a rip on Solis' ride of Awesome Gem, but I am curious wtf he was doing as he crossed the wire. It looked like he was angry and I don't know what exactly he was doing as he and Awesome Gem finished the race. He stood up and kind of like showed AG the whip. Can anyone tell me what on earth he was doing there?

Solis is quoted in an article on Bloodhorse.com as stating,“I got bounced around at the top of the stretch," Solis said of the runner-up. "It cost me. It cost me the race. I have no doubt.”

After reading your message, I went back and watched the replay on Calracing.com... there's a slow motion finish after the video of the race which actually provides a good visual of Solis actually throwing down his whip. I don't think he was showing it to Awesome Gem... I think he was simply so angry by the trip AG had to endure, and he thought it cost him/them the win. I thought Global Hunter won by more - but, the winning margin appeared to be a only a length. Maybe Solis was right - he did get pin-balled between horses and jostled around quite a bit.

Interesting to see CNak's reaction to the win (i.e. fist pumping exhileration) while Solis tosses down the whip in anger!
