C Nakatani is hands down the best

Postby Handsomepolack » Sat Jul 25, 2009 9:28 pm

I know life can alter our lives and it affects all jobs that people do, be it a nurse, cop, cleaner, ect, and CORY NAKATANI's job as a jock is a demanding and sometimes well boring, i mean 10 k claimers or a mdn 25 k, i have very little interest as most racing folk, and i can see Cory after riding the best horses ever to run on a track just it a mid- life point in his life , we all hit this wall. Today, if you watched the races at DMR , you seen vintage CK have a banner day, winning the headliner.

Cory thanks that we who follow horse racing in S-Cal have you, in spirit and your aggressive nature, that when you have a horse , you do the right move to win.....

CORY keep the fire pal..your blessed with a special skill very few have...be safe

Just like an old claiming horse whose aches and pains are momentarily alleviated by the warm California afternoon sun, and he performs like days of old.....for that one day......lets see where it goes....

I always thought Corey was one of the really good turf jockeys. Yesterday--in the Eddie Read at least--he was able to take advantage of a very freakish and anomalous situation which negatively affected two horses, who very possibly would have finished 1-2 otherwise; however, a good jockey and his horse become successful partly by capitalizing on others' mistakes, or in this case, misfortune.

I can't speak for the rest of the card because I missed it, but if the rider had an outstanding day overall, it's good to savor the moment.

Corey had a nice day...but by all means, one day or even one week a comeback is not made. Give the entire meet and see where he's at. I'm not C-Nak basher nor a banner waving fan, but am curious to see if he can become an upper tier jock (by win pct.) again.

Corey is one of the strongest riders and most athletic riders in the local jockey colony. He reminds me
of Pincay in his strength. He is an accomplished rider and to me it's all about the mounts you get. I
noticed of late that he is not on many favorites. The recent preferred riders are Rosario, Bejarano,
Gomez, and T. Baze. They are the go to guys right now and Corey has to wait his turn to crack the
top five again. Santiago-Reyes is a new face who looks great and you get 7 lbs off.

10% winners this year, only 37% ITM. I know, the horses don't ride the jockeys, but he will have a long row to hoe getting back on top.

I wish EVERYONE nothing but the best, so I'm not on his case.
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

I used to be able to count on Cory on the grass in the past, but after Lava Man he has seemed to turn into a hack. The guy has won a ton of BC races and stakes at Del Mar but his well documented lack of effort and dedication on thing regarding weight, morning workouts, handicapping, etc has turned his career in into "what could been" instead of "what is happening now." Just my opinion but wtfdik.

Sorry i never meant to ruffle the feathers by my CORY NAKATANi praise of being a top rider, he is if he ever pushed himself like he did when starting out. We all are guilty of getting too comfortable on the job ,after doing the same job for 20 years.
