They have to keep repeating who he is so people will say, "Oh, so he's a former athlete...now I know where they dug him up from." They also kiss up to him so they can get a bunch of free tickets, signed memorabilia, etc.

Did you catch Paul on his first day of broadcasting. On air asking kindly to be invited back. Guess he won't be coaching Russell Martin anytime soon.

Dont get him started on his time with the Mets.

Don't get me wrong I really do like TVG. What is Paul's deal is he still playing baseball or is he retired?

If you watched yesterday, now we know why he knows so much about horse racing. Turns out he lived above Mike Smith. Guess Mike was annoyed by the pounding noise above and at some point finally found out Paul live on the floor above him. Paul was doing a victory dance every time the Dodgers won a game which somewhat annoyed Mike. Couldn't imagine it kept Mike up alot...since the Dodgers weren't that good back then.

Paul looks ridiculous with his hat. There should be odds on how long the producers let him wear it.

Was it just me or were there about 100 comparisons of Rachel's pre-race preparations and post-race performance to baseball?

Is anyone else like me and just can't stand most of the TV Personalities on either channel? I'd rather listen to Les O'Chalka mumble and ramble on than hear Joanne Jones restate the every horse's PP's in a post parade. Or hear Ken Rudolph make some weird ass sounds, or have any of the TVG people sing. And it's not just the TVG crew, I had to hear Laffit and Gary talk about Red Giant today when they should have been talking about GIANT OAK for the Secretariat Stakes. I watch these channels to see LIVE RACING, not hear about how your picks still suck and how you should be alive in the Pick 4. I wanna see the horse I bet finish in last because that's more time I don't have to hear you fools talk. Yes I have Twinspires, but I can't always watch the races live on there because sometimes they overlap.

So am I the only one who finds these KIA wannabes to be like nails on a chalk-board? (All pun intended)

I'm just glad there are 2 channels dedicated to my favorite sport.

i gave up on all those morons years ago i have both hrtv and tvg. and rarely watch them ... 99% if im playing from hom i have all the feeds i want on my computer and if i erally wanna see the race i turn on the tv at the very last moment just to see the race.. the one thing i love is that the tvtg viewers blindly play theseawful pick 4 and 6 tickets and throw dead money right into the pool othet than that the people on screen are a complete waste of time tvg more so then hrtv.

Do you seriously believe there is any significant money "blindly" betting TVG's suggested P4/P6 tickets?

I don't have a problem with TVG or HRTV. Sure, 95% of the crap they spout is nonsense, but there is 5% that is information I'm not likely to get anywhere else. I talking about paddock interviews, trainer insights, and Matt Carothers' impeccable ability to single the "speed and fade" horse.
