While we were away....

Postby White Hat » Thu Jul 02, 2009 7:07 am

I won money
I lost more money then I won
I saw Zenyatta struggle a bit with 129 pounds
I saw Rachel Alexander sit behind two pinheads who dueled in a 3 horse race
I heard Goof give a truely funny race call when Lebron hit a game winning shot during a Friday night race
Hollywood Park closed then opened then closed then opened but closed and is now open
I decided that cushion track is the best of all the synthetic tracks in the USA
I enjoyed many race calls from rising star Frank Miirrammnantti (sp) at Turf Paradise and the fairs
I saw Stockton ace out a plunger by banning place and show wagering and the plunger countering with 75k to win on a mule
Freaky became the fastest quarterhorse my eyes have seen
I watched Ed Burgart's picks be better then Les Onaka's but he still sneaks under the radar
I missed fighting with FJM
I asked Claimbox for a winner and he went over the whole card for me free of change! (not knowing who I was of course)
One of my dogs had to be put to sleep
Doug O'Neil started heating up
Bobby Frankel became ice cold (though he has 11 million reasons to)
I have found myself bored on Wednesdays
I had a swine flu scare
I missed Free House defending USC
I missed Lester being banned for the 879th time
I missed all my friends and foes
Welcome back!

Sorry about your dog Whitehat, the same happened to me (Hannah) while we were gone. :(

My football team got put on probation for giving their friends free text books, meanwhile Auburn is allowed to get the 64 pack of crayolas instead of the NCAA allotted eight without any penalty.

WhiteHat, I hate to say this, but I missed fighting with you too.
Good luck this summer.

White Hat:

I am no longer Free House......I have reemerged as Ogygian again (just a public service announcement).

Concur w/Nash, great post by you.

And it seems that Beckron, myself, and you all had to put beloved dogs to sleep while we were away. I had to put Ollie, my 11 1/2 year old Cattle Dog, to sleep on May 3rd, the day after the KY Derby. The strange thing was that I had a KY Derby party at my home, and many people there met Ollie for the first time. A day later, he was gone. :-)

Anyway, glad to see your posts, and Frank's as well. You two make a great team in here!

I have to agree White Hat, Be A Bono has always been my top choice but Freaky was well...Freaky!!! His final times are just mind ing.

There is nothing "freaky" about this horse. His current trainer has taken a horse that was running up the track last year and has made him the fastest QH on the grounds. Oats, water, and love.

Ummm, I wasnt gonna mention that part! ;) I think he got a year, maybe 6 months "vacation". Maybe Freaky finally figured it out! And imo Be A Bono is still the man...err horse! His 2 2nd place finishes in the champion of champions were hearbreaking, but the late move he made in both were amazing. His loss to Wave Carver almost made me cry....I still say he got his nose in front dang it!!

My take on a very good post.

I finally won money on the Derby
My OTTB passed away the Monday after the Derby
I saw a filly win the Preakness
I mourned throughout the Triple Crown
I went to Tranquility Farm's in search of another OTTB
I picked the other "Bird" on hunch and scored at the Belmont
My newly adopted OTTB arrived the week after the Belmont - (I adopted "Lords Table" 2-Time T-Bred of the Meet at Los Al)
I lost my Belmont cash on "Foster Day" at Churchill
My job sucks, but at least I'm employed
Karl Malden died (did you hear?)
I got to go into the winners circle for Zenyatta's 11th
North Korea keeps launching missiles
I won money on the Iranian election (don't ask)
Wesley Ward scored in Great Britian
Lasix really does help with bleeding
Owners/Trainers still dismiss Cushion, Pro Ride, and Poly
Hollywood Park's track gets accredited
Inglewood City Council approves BM Land's proposal
Racing goes to 4 day weeks
I finally stopped crying everynight over the loss of by gelding

That about covers it.
