I know it looked awful...but I disagree that the video was taken down ....I understand if it wasn't shown on the monitors at the track...but If someone willingly wants to watch it then he or she should....we are all adults here...and the decision should be the individuals

Here in Louisville, they showed it on the 11:00 news...once in regular speed and once in slow mo. Raffi is still very much loved here, and that was the angle of the story...his health. Not sensationalizing the breakdown.

Here's to a speedy and complete recovery for Bejarano. It could have been MUCH worse.

I don't understand taking the race down, it robs anyone who is a serious handicapper the ability to review the race for future bets made...with real money. That is irritating.

Obviously this can happen anytime anyrace. But maybe a suggestion next year for Opening Day, if you cant fill a 10 or 11 race card without using a bunch of cheap claiming races cut back to 8 races. Think the statistics will show the 10,000K claiming types have more injuries than allowance type horses.

Bob I will be watching the Zapruder film this week. I might need your expert analysis. I will let you know.

I'm keeping Rafael in my prayers. I also feel remorse and sadness for Mi Rey. Here was an 8-yr-old, who was still racing and who had made 37 starts. To end up like this is extremely sad. This horse should have been able to go out with a secure life and retirement, not with a breakdown requiring euthanasia. I realize even under good conditions these fatal accidents can happen; however, I've read that compared to other countries, the mortality rate here is considerably higher.

RIP, Mi Rey.

Maybe the good folks at DMTC can swing their weight a little and have CalRacing rethink this rather bald case of censorship. Like you indicated, we can handle it. Would like to know what the "guidelines" are that are being applied here.
