Puglisi gets three-day suspension
Jockey Iggy Puglisi has been suspended three days, from Friday through Sunday, for careless riding in the eighth race on March 12.
Puglisi, who is winless with 11 mounts at the meeting, was cited for his action after the sprint for maiden claimers, when he appeared to strike his mount in frustration after finishing third aboard Harmony's Hope. Puglisi lost his balance and fell from the right side of the filly, causing an incident that led to jockey Chantal Sutherland being unseated.
Isn't that like suspending a kid from school for ditching??
Guess Stewards had to do something- Don't think he'll be losing too many mounts during his vacation.
If wishes were horses then beggars would ride-
& If dirt were dollars we'd all be in the black
What a joker!! Tried to punish the horse and falls off, pretty sure if he did not cause another jock to possibly get hurt with his silly actions it would have been kept quiet...If this guy was even half serious about his riding career he would have gone to GG, Turf or Sunland years ago.
I have a true dislike for any abusers. But I agree with Sync's comment. I love the IG-man, but his momentary lack of composure did cause another jockey to fall. I didn't see the incident as a deliberate act on Iggy's part. If this was part of a larger picture with him, then I apologize. I'm just glad that Chantal wasn't injured more seriously. Here's a question: If a jockey is given 3 days, can he/she still work horses out in the morning?
Someone should put a saddle on that cry baby Iggy and whip him....
