For everyone interested in the Apple Blossom Invitational on April 9, a new special website with information about it opens tomorrow afternoon (Feb. 17):
“The website will be opened to the public at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17,” said Steve Arrison, CEO of the Hot Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau, which is having the site created.
“People interested in the Apple Blossom will find a one-stop web address to find out the very latest information,” Arrison said. “The web address will be http://appleblossominvitational.com, but the site also can be accessed through the Hot Springs CVB site at hotsprings.org or through Oaklawn’s website at oaklawn.com.”
Arrison said the website contains information about lodging and dining availability, the most up-to-date information about the Apple Blossom Invitational itself, as well as transportation information and other aspects of what is shaping up to be the biggest tourism event in Hot Springs history.
“We will have constantly updated information about Oaklawn itself, including hours of operation, admission prices, parking, shuttle bus service, taxi and limo services, Hot Springs and Little Rock airport services and other such information,” he said. “In addition we’ll include the latest information about lodging in Arkadelphia, Mount Ida, Benton, Bryant and Little Rock.
“We’ll also include information about Hot Springs’ weather in April.”
The site will contain information about attractions and entertainment in Hot Springs, he said.
It would be special if they had hats or buttons or some type of racing memorabilia to honor these two wonderful champions. Perhaps they could have all proceeds donated to various horse related charities. $5M is a large purse, maybe the owners will announce a donation prior to the race.
Scroll down to the bottom of the "news" page... the "Paul Lick" report.
OK, now I can never read that Paulick report again without seeing it as "Paul Lick."
Headline at the top says "Friday, April 9."
They changed the horseshoe logo a bit. Yesterday it had little banners off the sides saying "Zenyatta" and "Rachel Alexandra" but they are gone now. Which is appropriate, since it isn't really a match race with only those two.
