Sea The Stars, best horse in the world

Postby Risen Star » Sat Jul 18, 2009 9:29 am

Tiimeform's top ranking of Sea The Stars is no surprise to me.

There are also five Americans in "The Global Top 30": Well Armed, Rachel Alexandra, Zenyatta, Geo Ponti, and Mine That Bird.

Here is the link to the Timeform Global Rankings - Issue 10 from the Timeform website:

I see Well Armed is highly rated. Anyone know which race he is pointing to next?

I would disagree with the placings of Yeats & Takeover Target. I think they should be higher than they are. Just MHO.

Yeats' fourth consecutive Ascot Gold Cup win was the highlight of Royal Ascot, IMO. We don't see stayers like that.

Yeah, what's up with placing Yeats that low? He did something incredibly incredible.

I don't know, unless it has to do with the fact that quality stayers and long distance races are rare, so they just don't look that closely at these horses. That's just a guess and I hope I'm very wrong.

Here's a horse with so many accomplishments through his long career, and to my understanding he also ran in the Melbourne Cup a few year ago. He didn't win, but he shipped a very long way to run in one of the sport's most elite races.
