Even the most die-hard California racing fan or the biggest anti-NYer out there has to admit that Saratoga is THE "A" meet in America. Even if Keeneland ran their two meets consecutively it wouldn't rival Saratoga in terms of graded stakes, 2YO racing, and the mid-summer Derby. Keeneland is a solid 2nd in my opinion but each Keeneland meet comes in with a bang and then goes out with a whimper.
If you enjoy meets like Delaware, Monmouth and Emerald Downs that's just fine with me, I understand.
But, I hope you understand that your favorite channels, TVG and HRTV will no longer be showing their races. ABC, NBC, CBS don't show minor league basketball or baseball because nobody bets on it, the same parallel should be drawn to horseracing. If you feed the fans a steady diet of Class "A" racing, they will love it and wager accordingly.
And besides, there's simply not enough good women commentators to cover all of the tracks.
And remember...Things work out best when you make the best of the way things work out.
