This is how you conduct a HOY campaign. Not beating up the same old glorified allowance horses in your zip code. And you mooks actually have the nerve to say Jackson is ducking Zenyatta ? Sherriff wouldnt even take on that marginal field in the Gold Cup. Probaly cause he knew they would lose. Life is Sweet lost by what 10+ lengths in a very slow Gold Cup . Probably because there were more than 4 horses entered in the race. Would have been dificult for "The Real Zen Master " to make her wide famous one move. Like I said I have nothing against the horse just the connections. Anyways this is a interesting year .I'm very excited about the 2nd half of 2009.

Rachel Alexandra will make her next start in the Grade 1, $1 million Haskell Invitational Handicap at Monmouth Park on Aug. 2, her connections announced Tuesday.
The Haskell will be Rachel Alexandra's second start against males. She won the Preakness on May 16, in between two one-sided triumphs against her own sex in the Kentucky Oaks and Mother Goose.
Ever occur to anyone that they aren't looking for horse of the year but to do right by their horse?
What risk is RA taking? A speed favoring track against a depleted sub-par three-year-old crop.
RA could beat up on grossly overmatched filles in the Alabama by 20+ lengths. Instead, she's facing the best possible competition in her age group. Summer Bird and Papa Clem aren't exactly chopped liver. RA will be contested early on.
As much as I respect Zenyatta, her connections are babying the champ. She towers over most of her male counterparts and she NEEDS to face males in order to be considered among the all-time great mares. I think she can win the Pacific Classic if the connections had the courage to enter her.
Name the last great filly/mare to never face the opposite sex.
Don't think she beats Gozzip Girl by 20 lengths.
Azeri faced the males and she ran fifth. ho-hum Personal Ensign faced the boys, and what did she face two of them? Personal Ensign's greatest race was against fillies. I'm not sure why anyone thinks the males this year make some strong statement of either of their ability. The boys can't string two stakes wins together for the life of them. I would much rather see her race RA and Seattle Smooth (for you Sluggo) than to see her face the males.
