Who could forget Jim Byers at Hollywood Park during the early eighties. His signature line was whatever horse was on the lead had a big lead (never
mentioned the number of lengths). I believe he went to the Midwest like Ak sar ben or Remington after his brief stint at Hollywood Park.
Was he the one who always said when a horse was moving thru traffic ... "moving BOLDLY between horses..."??
I remember a stretch in the early 80's where it seemed like HP had a different guy on the roof every week.
