Today was Zenyatta Day at Hollywood Park and thousands of exuberant fans traveled from far and wide to be part of the celebration honoring the great mare. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was a special guest, congratulating Zenyatta's connections and presenting a bronze California bear to the Mosses -- an award given for Outstanding Achievement.
Here's more, including a photo from Zenyatta Day.
Sore hands ? Especially Mike Smith. He signed so many posters & variety of programs it was a wonder he rode any races at all since he got mobbed every time he came out of the jock's room. But only 9,814 on track to honor a mare with the ability we'll likely never see again ? Pathetic...........But it was a grand day for those who did show up to honor Z.
If wishes were horses then beggars would ride-
& If dirt were dollars we'd all be in the black
We all had a fun day and everything went perfect.

[redacted] is booed at Hollywood Park

[redacted] went to Hollywood Park today to honor Zenyatta, the unbeaten mare.
But he wasn't warmly greeted during an appearance in the winner's circle. Instead, he received loud -- and sustained -- boos before giving an award to owners Jerry and Ann Moss.
[redacted] appointed Jerry Moss -- the "M" of A&M Records, the company he co-founded with Herb Alpert -- to the California Horse Racing Board in 2004. (Bo bimbo, another appointee to the board, was also on hand to greet the governor.)
A call to the governor's office asking for comment was not immediately returned.
Zenyatta, who's 14 for 14 in her career, was paraded on the track after the seventh race and brought into the winner's circle.
"She made impossible possible," Ann Moss said of Zenyatta, who's headed for Kentucky and broodmare duties.
