Mule still streaking

Bar JF Hot Ticket extended her winning streak to 17 races and made it 24 wins in her last 25 starts with an easy wire-to-wire win at 870 yards Sunday in the Pleasanton Mule Championship.

She has not lost since Aug. 5, 2007, when Sarah Nelson, Sunday's runner-up, beat her at Santa Rosa.

Bar JF Hot Ticket, a 6-year-old mare bred by Dave Wood and trained by Ray Thomas, now has a 35-29-3-2 career record with $156,427 in earnings.

Sarah Nelson, a 10-year-old mare, is now 83-51-22-7 with $244,463 in earnings.

I saw that race and they are so cute!! It's so amazing to me that they can accumulate so much in purse earnings.

Black Ruby retired at sweet 16 on 8-16-08 after making her 100th start. 70 career victories. Earnings of $236,085.

The Hot Ticket has a ways to go in the win column to catch the Queen of the mules.

She is an amazing mule for sure. Though I think it is hard to compare since Black Ruby had Sarah Nelson and Taz to deal with. Sarah in her prime was great. The competition is just not there.

I thought they said on HRTV the day of the race that Black Ruby is going to come back to race 1 or 2 more times. Not positive though.
