"Why would it "NEVER" happen? Your Rachel bashing has become tiresome."
Actually Stan ... I'm NOT bashing Rachel in this instance ... I'm bashing Jess Jackson.
I DON'T think he's the sportsman that people like to make him out to be or he wouldn't have ducked Zenyatta regardless of surface. I think its VERY safe to say that had the Breeder's Cup been on dirt this year ... Zenyatta would have been there.
In reality ... My beef is not with Rachel ... It's with Jackson.
You don't skip the BIGGEST race of the year if you think you've got the best horse.
From the moment The Preakness was over ... Jackson should have been aiming Rachel at the BIGGEST race of her life ... The Breeder's Cup Classic.
Running her campaign away from that just showed me a lack of sportmanship and cowardice.
I can't think of another top U.S. horse that skipped the Breeder's Cup that wasn't injured ... and they weren't all SYNTHETIC horses either.
Guess every other owner was just a bit more sporting and had a bit more confidence in their horses than Jackson did. That's a darn shame.
Read between the lines ... I'm bitter that the showdown didn't happen ... and the Breeder's Cup was the logical place ... One owner sent his horse and the other didn't ... My beef is with Jackson ... NOT Rachel
