Question of the day: Do you have a guess?

Postby Ogygian » Mon Jul 13, 2009 11:57 am

OK people, I have no idea what inspired me to share this thought w/you.....but here goes..........

If you had to guess, during the entire span of horse racing and it's long and storied existence, that more races were decided by one length or more, or less than a length?

To rephrase just a bit, would you say that most races have been decided:

1) By over a length or more..........
2) By less than a length..............

Which one wins? Why?

Less than a length otherwise they never would've installed cameras for the occasional photos.
And remember...Things work out best when you make the best of the way things work out.

Guessing that because most racing in world has been on grass, the answer would be under, but more curious who had the time to figure out the answer. ;)

Ogy if you specificaly mean US racing, & since most of those races have been on dirt, I'd say over. As Baffert put it-

Horses seperate on dirt
If wishes were horses then beggars would ride-
& If dirt were dollars we'd all be in the black
