I understand what you're saying, but IMO, it's 1-9, that horse didn't come out of his race in good shape.

Think Aaron is probably right...Baffert did say a month ago the BC was his last race. Maybe he was not perfect going in, who knows. But do think the plan for awhile was to retire him. Do not see how that race was the right send off to the breeding shed though. I never liked his running style and think he was overrated, but if he was sound, would think he could have helped himself by showing a little more next year.
I dont really understand the Colonel John either...ran like a freak on the turf and they never stuck to it. Stud fee's are dropping, mares being left barren, what is the rush to go to stud right now?
