One of the downsides of having the BC here. Front page, below the fold. SOS they dredge up every year. 'Sport of Kings', tuff to be an owner, got into it cuz my acct said I need to lose money, but I love it blah, blah, blah (tho I did not know owners must pay the outrider - no wonder the Euros eschew them). Since Luire was one featured, my guess is SAs PR dept anchored this one (Bueller, Shillman, Bueller....).
There's no harm in this I guess, but it uses the word 'economic model' under the headline and not once does it mention gambling. Here's a 'sport' unlike any other that involves a ball (or puck) in that it does not derive its operating capital \ revenue from TV contracts, sponsorship or paying attendance. It's primary revenue stream comes from gambling. It also has no sole governing entity like the other sports - 50 state entities comprised of crusty old white men can do as they please. This IMHO is what is wrong with the sport. No standardization. No accountability. No polypoo.
These pieces do no harm I guess, but they get old. SOS. Just like the rest of 'journalism' I guess. If they just need to fill columns and satisfy some advertisers PR dept, well then spiffy. But it's not news. And it says nothing new.

The did post something in the charts about how they're going to take a look at 'Betting Systems' during the week. Bob Ike uses charts and watches videos. Brilliant!
