I have been saying for years, this man lives on another planet, if one studies this type of mind and people in his position, they're all the same.
Take Howard Hughes, same type of person, he could careless about anything but making money.
Santa Anita had to change the names of those stakes races because the Oak Tree Racing Association owns the rights to the former names.
Personally, the Graded stakes committee should have a year ago threatened to and actually gone through with rescinding the Graded status of ALL stakes other than the Preakness run at a track owned by unless he agreed to give the fall dates at Santa Anita back to Oak Tree and let Oak Tree have the run of Santa Anita as they did from 1969-2009. Doing so would have meant in addition to Santa Anita and Golden Gate, Gulfstream, Pimlico, Laurel and other tracks would have lost their Graded status (including races like the Florida Derby, Santa Anita Derby, Santa Anita Handicap and the like) until he agreed to let Oak Tree have the fall dates at Santa Anita back.

Don't think Mr. S. himself is that deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the tracks anymore. He's pretty much tied up with "Team ," the political party he formed in his native Austria.
Had to disable the graphic so the link would work. Now requires a lower-case s.
If there's anyone here who's fluent in German, an Austrian former poster linked a piece about Team on her Facebook page. My approximately 10-word German vocabulary isn't up to the task.

I don't know of one race track in the country that serves decent food.I know Vinny will disagree with me but I was not that impressed with the food at his beloved Saratoga. Even the fantastic beef es sold in the SA clubhouse have rapidly gone downhill.
Lone Star Park does, BUT only in the simulcast building, which is open during live racing.
