Who is St Nicholas Abbey, you might ask. Known as "St Nick", he is, or was, an enormously talented racehorse based in Ireland.
He broke down rather badly last month and naturally everything possible has been done to save him.

I hope he makes it. He is carrying on the dynasty of the legendary Sadlers Well's through one of Sadler's Wells best sons, Montjeu.

Death of Montjeu is a Devastating Bloww for Coolmore
But there will be little cause for early celebration, just an underlying sadness, following news that one of the partnership’s most successful stallions, Montjeu, died on Thursday, aged 16, owing to “complications from an overwhelming septicaemia”, at Coolmore Stud, in Co Tipperary.
Montjeu was a powerhouse of a horse, a colossus, whose contemptuous defeat of Fantastic Light in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes in 2000 will live forever in the memory. So will his record of having sired three of the past seven Epsom Derby winners and 44 Group One winners worldwide. He is also the sire of this year’s ante-post Derby favourite Camelot.
