Where does one apply to become a steward in Southern California?
The circuit has become mostly irrelevant with the incompetency of the 3 stewards here. No DQ in Friday's feature, a horrid DQ of a runaway 7-length winner on closing week at Hollywood Park and before that, a terrible non-DQ 3 weeks ago (when a Proctor-trainer horse was badly interfered with in deep stretch).
Today's last race DQ was beyond awful.
The stench reeks. Get these incompetents out of here.
Given the So Cal stewards police the happenings in races with nary a bit of sense 99.9% of the time. What I want to know is who polices the stewards? I gather it's no one. So when these blind as mice stewards strike with decisions as those enumerated above -- oh and one today in R9 -- they need to be held accountable. Any chance that will ever happen???

I think it was just bad racing luck for the #4 and everyone is right that they didn't put up the inquiry themselves. It took a Jock Inquiry. Plus Mullins was the Trainer so you know he's not going to get the benefit of the doubt.
1. There is no oversight. The people in Sacramento dont give a hoot about what is going on. Not only the stewards, but the investigators (remember the idiot who went after Rosario?), the vets, etc., all are without supervision. Sacramento should be bulldozed asap. And in the greatest bit of irony since Shakespeare, it took one of their own unsupervised kin to point it out. Just read Chaney's opinon in the recent SCOTWINC mess.
2. It was a close call today, but the fact that there was no inquiry is disappointing. Agapito kept it real tight but Maldonado never did have to change his lane. Agapito is entitled to any spot on the track if he is clear. Stewards deny claims of foul every day because they say there was no room in there anyways. It seemed like that kind of situation. It was close but in my opinion there should have been no change.
I love how they cling to the rule "the infraction did not cost the victim a placing". In Fridays race the horse mugged two horses out of the gate and almost put one of them to the ground. Then one of the Keystone Kops goes on TVG yesterday to explain their decision. This is becoming a circus. As I said before, the Socal circuit is a joke to the rest of the country. They might as well throw out the rule book and just let em play roller derby once the gate opens, anything goes. Nothing surprises me anymore.I'm sure any day now they'll be wearing red noses and having squirting flowers on their lapels. These clowns have become an embarrassment to a wonderful sport.
Somewhat similar occurrence about a month ago at Hollywood when a horse that should have been declared a non-starter wasn't. Had they done so there would not had been a carryover in the pick 6 into the next day of racing.
