Rail Trip out of BCC

Postby Skipaway » Tue Oct 20, 2009 12:01 pm

A bruised foot will keep top California hope Rail Trip from starting in the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita on Nov. 7. Owners Mace and Samantha Siegel and trainer Ron Ellis made the decision to skip the BC Classic on Tuesday morning after Rail Trip missed a scheduled workout at Hollywood Park.

Too bad, I like Ron Ellis and wished him well in this attempt. Hope all is well with RT and he heals quickly.

Beat you by one minute with the posting! [lol].

But I agree that it is too bad. I would have liked to see Rail Trip give it a try.

So, with Rail Trip out and Gitano Hernando's connections opting to skip the BCC, who is left? And does this just increase the probability that Zenyatta will run in the Classic instead of the Ladies' Classic?
I bet on a horse at ten-to-one. It didn't come in until half-past five.
My horse was so late getting home, he tiptoed into the stable.

dang he's certainly one of the best we have, hate it for the connections. They sure do have rotten luck sometimes.

The quality of the Breeder's Cup just keeps getting better. At this rate, Life is Sweet may go off as the post-time favorite in the BCC.

Ellis had mentioned after his last work that he had come out of Del Mar with a slight foot issue, but it sounded like no big thing & dealing with it would be no problem.

Anybody who is EVER thinking about making a future book wager, be it the Kentucky Derby or Breeders Cup, on a Ron Ellis trained entrant and better get at least 500 to 1 if the races is still a few weeks off. Anything less is an underlay imho.
And remember...Things work out best when you make the best of the way things work out.
