Thank you for the kind words. The family appreciates it muchly.
I have worked for 6 Hall of Fame trainers, and I can honestly say that none of them are a horseman like my FIL was. They are managers, but not horsemen.
I have been so blessed to have had the honor of working for a horseman like Dennis! I pray that I am one day a horseman like he was. I pray I am compassionate like he was.
In the wake of his passing, I have been so impressed that no one has a single bad thing to say about him. Everyone has nothing but good to say. It is beyond admirable. In almost 80 years of life, Dennis garnered nothing but respect and high praise as a horseman and as a human being. Something to strive for!
I have been blessed to be married into the Patterson family for just shy of 7 years. It has made me a better person!
The family presses on. "Business as usual." But it's not business as usual. We are missing our leader. Some adjustments are being made. Some easier than others.
We remain strong as a family, even though we miss Poppa Dennis dearly.
Keep betting us . Were as strong as ever!
Nice to see you posting again Mrs. P though sad it's under such circumstances. Seems like many of us don't post much here any longer. So sorry for your loss. Didn't know much about your FIL Dennis Patterson, but surely remember seeing his name amongst No Cal entries for many many years.

"He just spent a lifetime doing something he was very passionate about," said Mr. Patterson's son, Dennis Jr., who is a successful jockey agent. "He probably would have done it free, to be honest. He loved the horses and the people. He said he always felt like he was in a movie; he thought he was living a fairy tale."
Sounds like a great guy Mrs. P.
Sorry to hear about your family's loss.
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
