behind the scenes

Postby Crazykid » Thu Mar 14, 2013 10:52 am

read an article about gary and mary west owners of flashback-code wets-power broker in todays form. the racing manager they have a guy named orin glass, is one of the best horsemen in history that not many have heard of. he breaks all those babies gets them ready to breeze before they go to the track. he just got tired of race track life and doesnt care about the spotlight. but i would say if i were ranking him as a horseman i would say baffert aint got nothing on him and bobby frankel wasnt quite as good as orin glass thats how good he is.

Correctmundo Aaron:

Ben Glass, purchased a Lemon Drop Kid – Wow Me Free colt for Gary and Mary West for $210,000: “We had eight horses on our short list; two of them we kept on it. I don’t look at a lot horses. Mr. West doesn’t like to buy fillies. I don’t look at a lot of sprinters and a lot of grass horses. He (West) likes dirt horses and classic distance horses and that limits what we look for. But overall, I saw some nice horses here.

“The economy is taking a big hit and I don’t think horses are bringing what they would have in another year, which they shouldn’t. We’re getting down to the basics again. It was getting a little bit out of hand before (the recession). But some of these horses walking through the (sale) ring are doing OK.”

Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

same guy his nick name is ben. you may remember rockamondo? $100.00 to win in the Ark derby. he was a very high % trainer in the midwest, didnt run many so was never in the trainer standings. he is absolutely revered. gaurantee you guys like bill mott DWL the vonHehemmels etc..know who he is because guys like mott look up to this guy. he just doesnt want to be at the track and doesnt care about the spotlight. he runs the operation for billionaires who he is close friends with for 40 years...the best horsemen all use to come from nebraska and the top guys now are all doing what those nebraskans invented.
