I bet and follow ten different racing jurisdictions around the country, but never have a problem deciphering race conditions and eligibilties as I do Northern California.
Sundays last race: a non winners of 2 lifetime 4,000 claimer(maiden, claiming or starter for 3,200 or less not included).
Good so far,EXCEPT the 2 horse, and the 4 horse both have won this exact condition. They both won nw2l 4,000 at Golden Gate.At first I thought this was "beaten claimers",where 4 yr olds can win as much as they want, and older horses are limited to 2 wins, but it was not. 4yr olds and older had 2 wins.
My question-how in the world were the winners of 2 eligible? It is kind of ridiculous. And Im not even gettin started on the non winners of 1 allowance in the 7th,where Baze's horse won it last time, and was running for same exact condition, and both times not entered for a tag.
Regarding Habit Forming in the 7th race yesterday, Cal Breds are allowed to win the Alwn1x condition twice in northern California. Since he only won it once, he was allowed to run again. Based on the condition, Cal breds who won the race once already, must carry two extra pounds the next time.
The basis for this is that the Cal Bred Alwn1x races do not fill in northern Calfornia like they do in Southern California because of the horse inventory. In place of the Cal bred Alwn1x condition, northern California allows the cal bred to win the Alwn1x condition twice.
Regarding the 9th race at GGF, the race is for horses that have never won two races and has the condition Mdn, Claiming, and Starter races for $2,500 or less not considered. So the maiden win is not considered....
Flying Marine and Rathgar have won two races, a maiden claiming, and clm4000N2L. Since the maiden win is not consider, based on the conditions of the race, they qualify as only winning one race and this race is for horses that have never won two races.
Hope this helps,
you are right SI. this race and conditions was posted on another board and one needs to notice the "comma" between Maiden,Claiming and starter races for 2,500. both 4 and 5 ran and won MCL races(not consided) and a CL(not considered)
the 2 also had 2 wins in 23 attemps but didn't show in the PP's.
Thanks for the info, but the condition in the program states Maiden, claimer or starter FOR 3,200 OR LESS NOT CONSIDERED. Flying Marine and Rathgar both broke their maidens for 4,000! This is non sensical. Now the info on Baze's allowance winner being a Cal-bread was very helpful,as i hadnt heard of that before.
