No inquiry in the Big Cap yesterday??????

Postby The Bart » Sun Mar 03, 2013 5:38 am

The friggin' winner comes over big time and smashes the livin' ell out of Handsome MIke who was gunning for the lead, puts Mike into the rail, and drops him back at least two lengths just before the finish line first time around, and no call??

My question is: How would Game on Dude have the same finishing kick that he had , had Handsome Mike not been mugged and kept Game on Dude in the two path going around that first turn and maybe quickened those early fractions?

Yesterday is just one of many examples why I don't like "three monkeys" at each track, in the nation, deciding the fate of my bet.

It was big race race riding on the part of M.Smith. He saw an opportunity and took it. He intimidated Handsome Mike but never came close to making contact.

There should have atleast been an inquiry. Mario still should have gone to the lead cause he should have known the only chance he had to win was to go to the lead. Whether he was impeded or not, Terrible ride by Mario.

I'm sure the stewards took a quick look at the head on and quickly decided that there should not be an inquiry. Mario could have lodged and objection if he wanted to.

Smith said in post-race interview, talking about that move, that he was perfectly clear. You could tell by his big SES that it was just a racing tactic and not risk-taking. Mikey isn't going to make a dumb mistake in the Big Cap with the Big Horse (GOD, in fact).

It was a Hall of Fame move that separates the best of all time from just the best.
