TB's dumped at turlock auction

Postby WAM » Sat Mar 02, 2013 9:09 pm

Auction horse rescue (facebook) has posted pictures on their website of many racing Tb's including Dancing Jennifer owned and bred by Roger Stien who were "dumped at the Turlock auction. I don't know these people but they do great work, going to Mike's auction and many other local auctions, trying to save as many as possible.Hot ticket, Blazing gulch, Island Bordeaux,New macho man, are a few they have identified who are going through tonight. I know they have limited funds and shipping from there is tough, If you can help, the number is 917-447-1167. I am not trying to solicit donations but I think people should be aware of these people and if you know any shippers or can help in other ways give them a call. This is tonight starting around 9pm

The auction is starting now and they can only save 1 or 2 they do have a paypal account so if you want to help go to their facebook page. Sarah (who I bought Warring Heart from) of equine racers fame has posted these horses on her page as well

The auction is over, they saved New Macho man and an older tb. Don't know who got the others. I wonder if Rodger knows or cares Dancing Jennifer ended up there. Thank you to all the small rescue people who are doing their best to save what they can. We really need a racing funded farm where the "throw aways" can live a happy life or be re trained for another career. I know many people who have the desire, ability and knowledge to run one, myself included, but not the land or money. That's my lottery winning fantasy, to have a safe place for them to go where there is no chance of the them ending up on a table in France, a match race in Mexico, or an auction in California. And to all a good night

Roger Stein didn't know anything about this. Not sure how they track these things.

This is a horseracing forum. So it makes more sense to talk about saving T-breds.

That makes me feel better that he didn't dump her. When Harris farm and Adena in FL (believe it or not) found out their horses ended up at Mike's auction they paid the purchase price and shipping to retire them back to their farms, Way to step up!
