You call the other horses Tomato cans , I wish I owned them
End of story.
I didn't call anyone tomato cans. You did. Just a reminder that Fort Larned, Wise Dan, and Mucho Macho Man are all in training in 2013 not to mention Royal Delta. All four of these are tons better than what Game on Dude faced yesterday.

Game on Dude looked like a special horse yesterday regardless of the competition BUT I can't consider him "the best around" when his record outside of SA/HP is just 2 for 12 (one stakes win). Baffert could have run him in the Charles Town Classic against weaker competition and double the purse; one has to think he's just a bad shipper.

I've been around HR for close to 50 years and have seen it all. Game ran a solid race on Saturday on his home court. No doubt it was a impressive win.It looked more like a glorified workout,it was that easy. I agree with many of the previous posts that its obvious he doesn't like to ship and usually beats up on not the best of fields. One of the reasons I tend to like the older handicap division in Ky, NY and Fla is they seem to do better on different tracks. I totally get you need to be cost effective as an owner. They do have an experienced advantage of shipping on a consistent basis.California based older horses seem to just stay locally unless their trained by Baffert who kicks azz when he ships. He has raised the bar with the way he wins Derby preps all over the country. His record in TC races is excellent. I would love to see other SA trainers to ship their older horses all over the country. I know its not as easy being all the way on the West coast. I remember when John Henry would win a stakes race at SA,then ship to the Meadowlands 3 weeks later and win. Then on his way home he would stop in Chicago and take down another race. Some argue if the East coast horses were so much better they would ship out here more and win these graded races. Why ship all the way to California when you have so many graded races to choose from in the triangle ? That's why its a double edge sword on the West coast for the older division. I hope I made sense.

Yes hopefully he does, then when he gets overbet in the Breeders Cup Classic he can help eliminate the takeout just like last year.

sharp post Fredo As far as important older races, on the East Coast - you have the $500k Donn in February $1.5m CT Classic in April $300k Alysheba and Pimlico Special on the day before the TC races and the $750k Metropolitan in May $400k Stephen Foster in June $350k Surburban in July $750k Whitney and Woodward at Saratoga $1m Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont in the fall and other races in the area throughout the yearIn CA, you have $750k SA Handicap in March $500k HP Gold Cup in July (purse is half of what it was 10-15 years ago and a race that might not be around much longer) $1m Pacific Classic in August on poly $250k Goodwood in Septemberyou also have the $10 million DWC at the end of March overseas too.

Ernie, your reading comprehension leaves a bit to be desired.. Saturday, Baffert mentioned the $1.5 million Charles Town Classic in West Virginia on April 20 as a possibility, but did not commit that race Sunday. “We’ll have to see,” he said.Hard to read that and say it WILL be his next race!
