Thanks... thrilling, both of them, still gives me goosebumps! Especially the Sunday Silence/Easy Goer duel - the first and only TC race since 1980 that I didn't watch live (on TV, of course). My sister and I were on the road, and I had to listen to it on the radio - which proved to be almost more exciting than watching it.

one of the great races EVER. easy goer was trying to bite sunday silence in deep stretch or he would have won the race and pat valenzuela proved he is one of the great great jockies in that race, he gave pat day a lesson in race riding.

Yeah - I always felt that if EG had kept his "eyes on the prize", so to speak, instead of focusing on SS, he might have gotten the head bob.

easy goer was a sore horse his whole career. i was betting through a bookie in those days. i bet $500.00 to win on easy goer in the derby then i bet another $500.00 to win on him in the preakness then i called my bookie to bet another $500.00 on him in the belmont and he had been arrested and i couldnt bet. thats my luck
