The Pick 5 at Santa Anita

Postby Suddenice » Wed Feb 27, 2013 8:02 pm

Mr. Raffetto said he was also approached by Mr. Daruty regarding participating in
a Pick-6 promotion at Santa Anita for which Mr. Daruty will be putting together a
proposal. Santa Anita is also considering dropping the Pick-5. Mr. Raffetto
suggested supporting the Pick-6 promotion in an effort to deflect Santa Anita
dropping the Pick-5. It was decided that the board would like to hear the proposal
from Santa Anita before making any decision.

If they drop the Pick 5, this will be the last bet I will ever make at SA

The pick 6 is a huge profit maker for the race track and they want everyone to play it.

I believe people will play elsewhere and get away from Cal Racing

Again, one more nail in the coffin and opening up opportunity for other race tracks.

Lets hear it for SA The Real Great Race Place to take your money.

Wow, if lester doesn't bet at Santa Anita anymore, the Paddock Room will surely close and cigarette sales will go way down.... Hope Santa Anita considers the magnitude of their decision, it will be as great or greater as the magnitude of the earthquake in Upland

Lester, the hook is so firmly set in your mouth that you would still bet if the takeout was 50%.

Lie DX, no I am not kidding,

If the pick 5 goes, I go, I still attend SA but bet the races at the race track, hell no

What does SA think, bettors grow on trees,

If they eliminate the Pick 5, SA will take a hit from a lot of players,

They're forgetting one thing, they're pick 5 players and there are Pick 6 players, worlds apart in money and how one plays.

MItch and MIke, I don't care what the take out is as long it is reasonable, the track must make money to run the daily activities of the track.

If it is the same as the pick 4 or pick 6, I wouldn't mind.

Santa Anita has terminated a promotion paying a 20 percent bonus to ontrack customers who hit the pick six.

The track said the promotion failed to boost handle on the pick six.
