I saw Pleasant Colony in 1981. I bet on Sandy Hawley who was riding a horse for Lukas (Partez ?). Hawley stood up at the 1/16th pole and it probably cost him second. He probably shouldn't have watched that tape of Shoe and Gallant Man before the race. I was also there when Alysheba won in 1987. I saw Chris McCarron in the elevator of the Executive West hotel the night before--I figured it was an omen. Alysheba might have been eligible for a NWX2 but the money spent just the same. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

You probably ought to give it up now that the whole world knows a BIG announcement is coming from you/Santa Anita.

That's what I've always said... but wouldn't ya know it looks like I'm going this year! A client gets tickets for Oaks and Derby days for his clients, and got a couple for me - and he hosts some events Derby week, too, which will feature some of my work. I soooo don't want to wear a dress... or hat.

Here is the great View I had of Barbaro's Derby in 2006--Do you think they pack them in a little too much?

Carried a bunch of my employees money from Silicon Valley to play on BlueGrass Cat. I touted "Cat" as a sure thing to hit the board in the run up to the Roses and
they all got rewarded when I came back to work the following week.

Great experience but had more fun in the cards during derby week then I did on Derby Day itself.

On my wish list too Fredo.

Matter of fact, I'm looking for sponsors as I speak.

Thanks! My first plan was to go to Lexington in April to gallery shop (would like some new representation in the area), but combining it with the Derby is not the worst that could happen, lol!
