The question is, do you want any part of him at even money?

Violence's race in the stake at Aqueduct is not highly regarded at all. There was a tremendous outside bias(as there was all fall on the main at the big a).Violence was 5 wide on the best part of the track beating a Breen runner named Vegas No Show, who has since come back to lose several races he was supposed to win.At the beginning of the summer I had not even heard of Violence, and I hang out with some of Pletcher's people all the time, and they love to gab about their best horses.Maybe he is a surprise to them,as that happens ooccasionally, but I doubt it.Think He is a pretender.

using your information, you have to absolutely love hes had enough. stuck down inside blocked steadied, had a way way way worse trip than oxbow and oxbow beat hes had enough by a nose. hes had enough made a big middle move then hung in the last 100 yards. one thing you can bet on thays a sure thing, if hes had enough wins the fountain of youth i will have had a very very good day.

Violence is no match for He's Had Enough. The jock of Violence will be screaming "he's had enough" at the 1/8th pole.

Violence = Hunch play of the year for us Oakland, CA folks.

re the race at Aqueduct - why didn't every jockey take the 'tremendous outside bias' and win with their mounts?

All a horse can do is win the races he is put into. Violence has done that, at three different tracks, on both coasts, as a 2YO. Someone must like him, he was 4/5 in his Saratoga maiden win at 7f, a race he could have lost but showed good determination in the stretch. He seems to get better with distance.

That's why they call it gambling, I reckon.[/quote]

'WHY DIDNT ALL THE JOCKEYS RIDE THE OUTSIDE BIAS AT AQUEDUCT THAT DAY?" Simple,it was a one turn mile, and the 3 speed horses gutted it out on the front so the 2 inside horses had no chance to get outside. The rail horse that day was Darwin,a Pletcher horse who was 3-5 ,running valiantly trapped inside on one of the worst rails of the year.Darwin is much better than Violence. He ran much better in the Nashua than Violence if you know what to look for.
As for Violence being 4/5 in his maiden, tell me how many Pletcher 1sters arent 4/5?Not many.Violence is a good horse, just not a super horse.

Nothing personal,I just hate Hes Had Enough.I know he got steadied in the BC,but I would rather get steadied on a golden rail that was the BC rail, then run freely 5 wide.He isnt the one.
As for Oxbow,Im prone to give a mulligan to a speed dirt horse who travels cross country and runs on a synthetic he is not used to at all.I think the Coach has been salivating for a return trip to glory.People starting to forget how good he was with babies and 3s a decade ago.Wouldnt it be a great story if he kicked off rockin Johnny Court and put Winning Color's rider on Oxbow(cant remember his name).Old guys rule!!

These opinions are why they have decided to go ahead and run all the Derby prep races, instead of just announcing the Ky Derby winner now. ;)
