Racetrack Incompetence Strikes Again

never fails... Gulfstream and Santa Anita owned by same company yet at least 1-2 races every day at both places seem to do off at the same time.

You can’t make it up and it happens all the time. They could hire a hamburger flipper from McDonalds who could come up with the right solution but guys like Brackpool making hundreds of thousands of dollars can’t figure it out. Amazing!

Off at exactly the same time Jimi. Magna cannot hold up one of the two tracks so they aren't shown at the same time.

I read somewhere there was a company out there helping tracks coordinate their post times to get maximum results. Sorry I don't remember where I saw it.

Found it.

The air traffic coners that Reagan fired in the early 80's might still be available.

WTF are you talking about ? This is about the tenth post where you criticize someone. How in the world by me saying I read an article on something makes me a lazy handicapper? Take your arrogant opinion and keep it to yourself.

The point that tracks need to coordinate or worry that their post times conflict is moot.
Don't they teach you in handicapping 101 to have all your handicapping for the days events done before you hit the track so as to only have the task of identifying a bet with an edge? I'd say that
it's a lazy punter rather than track incompetence IMO.

Absolute nonsense.

Many punters that I know - some who actually make a profit, wait for the last minute before they wager even if they did their handicapping seven months ago. It's very hard to do this with two or more tracks going off at the same time.

So how does one go about identifying a bet with an edge? I look at the W-P-S pools, the exacta pools, the will pays and then compare those to my handicapping. I wish I could do all the comparisons the night before but that all happens in the last 5 minutes before the race. So you think handicappers are lazy if they can't watch horses on 2 different tracks warm up, and then go to the betting data to try and find an edge in the last 5 minutes? I am sure that if you are betting on numbers, horse's names or jockey's silks it shouldn't be a problem.

"...for all you frogs out there..."

How did I get involved in this?

Since I am, why would - say 150,000 - bettors need to develope a procedure for betting two major tracks at once, with the ability to change the bet up to the start, while watching how the horses warmed-up, etc., when could pick up the phone to his two managers and change the start times in 5 minutes?

I guess I was a systems analyst for too long.
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.
