Why? Does he know someone that can handicap?

He knows Pete Miller.
America must have the highest "goofs per capita" rating of any nation outside Antarctica.

Hollywood Park will conduct racing on Friday afternoons for the upcoming spring-summer meeting, track president Jack Liebau said on Monday. The decision ends more than two decades of racing on Friday evenings during the spring-summer meet.

Hollywood Park had run Friday evenings during virtually every meeting since 1991, even through different owners. The track ran a series of twilight programs in 2001 that considered unsuccessful.

NO OTB........
We have rotating Friday Night BBQ in my cul de sac.
Nice to have a Man Cave (ERR tricked out garage) to play Australia with all the neighbors and friends.
We got in trouble this past Friday when my best bet of the night hit at 9-1 at Rosehill.
We woke up a few of the wives and kids in the neighborhood who had already gone to sleep with our loud cheers.

Now a days, the only Friday Night obstacle is trying to keep our voices down after 10:00pm as compared to the significant obstacles at HP in the old corner. A small part of me misses those great times and the wonderful atmosphere, but life changes and we improve.

I do an occasional seminar here and there around Ventura County, and further up north.
But the Friday nights here in the neighborhood are something special.

It's too bad that Hollywood Park made this decision, but at the same, I understand the rationale, and if the numbers simply don't add up, then changes need to be made. As I said on the other thread, I would like to see Hollywood Park do just one more Friday Night Racing on April 24th. It would be a great marketing campaign to welcome everyone back to Hollywood Park. They don't have to do a concert, and advertising a one night promotion for the year with $2 beers, $1 hot dogs and soda creates an excellent sense of urgency and could probably bring in a nice crowd.

Looking forward to March 1st! Flemington, Rosehill, and Eagle Farm! MY THREE FAVORITE TRACKS!
