Here we go again.
Once again this year, a Kentucky Derby contender is someone who did not race as a 2-year-old. Last year it was Bodemeister. This year it is Verrazano.
Why does it matter that Verrazano did not race as a 2-year-old? It matters because 130 straight Kentucky Derby winners have raced at 2.
