Del Mar Online Racing CommunityAnother bad callAnother bad callRace 4 at Santa Anita, #4 clearly bumps the #9 just before the wire on the head-on quite possiblt costing the #9 the win, yet no change.
Re: Another bad callThese CA stewards are atleast generally consistent which I can not say about several other circuits. Looking at you NYRA. There stewards in 2012 figuratively cost me a small fortune with terrible calls.
ORRRRRRBBBBBBBBB!!!!!!
Re: Another bad callIf the CA stewards were like NY, then it would easily come down. Though the call is 50-50.
Re: Another bad callA foul is a foul. The 9 horse got beat a half an inch for crying out loud. If that was Gary Stute's horse, it would have come down. No way they were DQ'ing new mom Kayla Stra. Terrible call. But what do you expect from the 3 monkeys in the booth. At least they are consistently bad.
Re: Another bad call
FACT. Go back 11 days to a very similar incident. Stewards used their common "the videotape will substantiate" BS. I'd rather take my chances betting on Jai Alai.
Re: Another bad call
So true. It's downright sickening how the three monkeys in the booth have preferences in riders. If Bejarano, Gomez, Talamo or some top tiered rider is involved no change is the verdict. But if Bisono, Delgadillo, Pedroza are involved, they will be automatically disqualified. You can read their decisions in advance in braille.
Re: Another bad call
Sharp post. They are viewed by racing officials around the country as the Keystone Kops. Anything goes in Socal.

New mommy needs diapers, baby food, and a pair of new shoes.
Re: Another bad call
pretty obvious after seeing the three rats make calls over the past view years the people (not naming people) who they like and who they don`t. I will also add that had the roles revered and the 9 won and hit the 4, a dq would be made within two minutes of being posted.
Re: Another bad call
Actually to clarify. A foul is indeed a foul. However, by CHRB rule if that foul did not cost the opponent a opportunity for a better placing the order of finish stands. As for the stewards playing favorites. I've worked with this board for many years. I've seen or heard ZERO evidence to support that claim.
