No doubt the payoff came back as a big overlay but it could have just as easily paid $800. Other than from a psychological standpoint the carryover did not affect the payoff. Psychologically some bettors may shun short prices and bet all long prices in hopes of being the lone winner. That would lift the payoffs on the chalk winners but hardly enough to warrant a steady play.
