Even if there is a 1% chance something like this could happen it would be good news. He could afford it, has a passion for the sport. If someone could take it over and spend some money to fix it up a little it would a great thing for CA racing. The thought of this Los Al thing to me is depressing.

Exactly; I don't think it would be worth the money to enlarge the track to only 7/8ths of mile with no turf course. That just sounds like Fairplex, good for about three weeks a year.
