The race needs to be limited to 14 starters. Max. Unfortunately, this won't happen until there's a major spill. The KY Derby Stampede is completely unbettable. I'd rather bet big money on maiden claimers.

Old question, is the Kentucky Derby the ultimate test for a 3YO in early May, to win it and be called Champion, or
is it just the feature race on the first Saturday in May, and too early for 3YO horses to be going 12 furlongs carrying 126 lbs.?
