last time i was there,weeds covered the race track. i remember when i was a little kid my folks would get a table and the waiters would come around all day with food and drinks right to your table. when the horse races were over they would roll out the portable dog track for night racing.

Two things I miss about Agua Caliente.

The spicy Tijuana Hot Dog wrapped in bacon: http://www.seriouseats.com/images/tijuana_500px.jpg

and Hank Rhon's menagerie of exotic animals in the infield zoo..

I went to the "re-opening" back in the '90s (?), got diarrhea, a t-shirt and had a good day betting. Too bad that re-opening didn't last very long.
America must have the highest "goofs per capita" rating of any nation outside Antarctica.

i was at the grand opening of the race track in juarez back in the early 60s when i was a little kid, that got national attention at the time. i remember
how fancy it was with inside waterfalls etc.. went back 40 years later the track was closed and the simulcast was absolutely filthy.
when caliente was going strong it rivaled so cal racing in attendance

Gonna be hard to concentrate on picking winners while the Tilted Kilt waitresses wear close to nothing.

You can still get those bacon wrapped dogs at SC games. Look for the hot dog vendor carts outside of the Coliseum.
