Fury Kapcori will miss Robert Lewis Stakes

Fury Kapcori, second in the Grade 1 CashCall Futurity at Betfair Hollywood Park in December, will miss the $200,000 Robert Lewis Stakes for 3-year-olds at Santa Anita this Saturday, trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said on Sunday.

“He’s got a little problem,” Hollendorfer said. “It might cost him a little time.” The Grade 2 Lewis Stakes is run over 1 1/16 miles and is a key prep for the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby on April 6. The race is led by He’s Had Enough, second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile here in November, and Flashback, a sharp maiden race winner at Hollywood Park in December.

The race is not expected to draw a large field.
