Re: Sea The Stars Retired
Vegas shoots & scores again- Each day is making the Moss decision easier & easier. First Tiago throws in a major clunker that shows he hates this pro ride stuff or he doesn't want to race any more & now the Sea Of Stars reason not to run in the Classic against the boys is gone............ If wishes were horses then beggars would ride-
& If dirt were dollars we'd all be in the black

Plus being a half-brother to Ouija Board, who wasn't half bad, doesn't hurt. "And Afleet Alex just ran right by Giacomo like he was standing still!"

Or come out of it in such fine condition that they didn't want to risk him. Really, how much more does he need to do? "And Afleet Alex just ran right by Giacomo like he was standing still!"

Re: Sea The Stars Retired
Same sire as Ouija Board, but not typical horsey terminology to call him a half-brother. Sibling terminology is usually reserved for the moms. Although a full and a half brother is distinguished by the sire. You can bet the Darley folks at Kildangan will be letting everyone know Cape Cross sired Sea the Stars and Ouija Board. "I'm Winston Wolf. I solve problems."
Re: Sea The Stars Retired
Genetics & DNA trumps terminology every time. Horseracing terminology is kind of colloquial (quaint). Whatever horse Cape Cross sires, it has 1/2 his genes. "And Afleet Alex just ran right by Giacomo like he was standing still!"

Re: Sea The Stars Retired100s of mares are bred to the same stallions each year, so storm cat has sired 100s of half brothers.
Re: Sea The Stars RetiredI'm sure he'll be a very popular stallion in Europe. But from a totally selfish standpoint, I REALLY wanted to see him race here. He probably would have loved the ProRide.
And I agree with the poster who stated that this will/should simplify the decision for Zenyatta's connections regarding running her in the Classic. But, there is still the chance that a decent (not stellar) European horse with a great closing kick could beat her there. Needless to say it will be fun to follow developments over the next few weeks. I bet on a horse at ten-to-one. It didn't come in until half-past five.
My horse was so late getting home, he tiptoed into the stable. ~ Henny Youngman

No connections for me, but I'm sure for the right price, the Brits would even send an American a copy. "I'm Winston Wolf. I solve problems."
