Barry Abrams, in an interview with Peter Lurie today, said he might run Lethal Heat in both the Ladies Classic on Friday and the Breeders Cup Turf
Sprint on Saturday. Unbelievable story if he does it.
He's kidding, right?
Barry Abrams thinks outside of the box, and that is very refreshing. If he goes ahead with this idea, it would be very disturbing. Odds of even Barry doing this, 10,000-1.
If it worked out it would be great... too many x factors though!
Don't you think the B.C. people would never, ever let Barry run her on consecutive days due to the massive and maybe permanent stain on the sport if she was hurt or worse?
Wasn't there an Australian horse that did pretty much the same thing over there, just last year?
Is there a Vegas line yet to bet the parlay?
Thinking of the welfare of the mare.
Also...I don't think she will win either race, regardless of whether she runs in one or both.
I have no idea what this box is that Barry is thinking outside of. Perhaps it is between a rock and a hard place. Where it may be gathering no moss.
Gentlemen, there's no fighting here. This is the WAR ROOM!

I'm guessing that even if he puts up the $60k to run in the Distaff and the $30k to run in the Turf Sprint, they will find a way to keep him from running both days. The ability to enter only two races and the preference system will be tools the BC folks can use, but if there is not the maximum number starters in either race, Abrams might be able to do it. Probably won't be a full field in the Distaff, but probably will be full for the Turf Sprint. While crazy, this is less crazy than Rick's Natural Star in the Turf. A horse in England won a group race on Sunday after running the day before earlier this year, but I still don't think it's a good idea on Abrams' part.
