Cal Derby Results

Postby Hollywoodmike » Sat Jan 12, 2013 8:58 pm

Was I the only one who thought Wildcat Moon should have been disqualified from second place today for his abrupt
left turn out of the gate that wiped out the 1, 2, and 3 horses? The 3, Zeewat, eventually won but it sure looked
like WM should have been dq'ed. No sound on at Betfair Hollywood Park monitors so I couldn't hear Michael
Wrona's description of Stewards' ruling.

The Stewards acknowledged interference to Zeewat (#3) but it was moot because Zeewat beat Wildcat Moon. They acknowledged interference to Condiment (#2) but ruled it didn't cost him the chance of a better placing. They made no mention of the rail horse. Unanimous.

Thanks. No sound at satellite BHP to hear explanation.

If he read that well deserved praise. He probably also read enough to stay away at all costs. Unlike me Michael is not a dummy or glutton for punishment.

It's like a train wreck, Goof - you KNOW it's gonna be horrible but you just can't look away.
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.
